Women’s Only Self-Defense Class

October 3 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Practical training. Real-world skills. Greater confidence.

This women’s-only self-defense class takes a practical, principle- and concept-based approach to personal safety. Participants will develop the mindset, awareness, and purposeful movement skills needed to respond effectively during real-world physical encounters.

Through practical instruction and movement-based training, participants will learn adaptable strategies for creating space, managing physical confrontation, and working toward safer outcomes. The focus is on developing confidence, practical skills, and the ability to make purposeful decisions under pressure—regardless of prior training or experience.

Led by Direct Action Combat

Participants will learn from Direct Action Combat, led by Randy Turner, a former elite member of Canada’s Special Operations Forces (JTF2) with 21 years of military service and eight deployments, including to Afghanistan and Bosnia.

Drawing from his military experience and professional MMA background, Randy developed the Direct Action training philosophy around practical, progressive, and purposeful combative training. His approach incorporates principles from disciplines including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, wrestling, and Krav Maga, with an emphasis on developing mental, physical, and emotional resilience.

As the owner and head coach of Direct Action, Randy brings extensive real-world experience and a modern, adaptable teaching style to the class—creating an environment where participants can build practical skills, confidence, and resilience in a safe and supportive setting.
